I realize that our spring season is not quit over but we are getting a jump on the fall season and wanted to give you a heads up. On Thursday, June 5, 2014 before and during closing ceremonies, RGSA will be offering a discounted registration price to Fall Ball. If you register your daughter tonight it will cost only $30.00 to play softball in the fall. If you register in August the cost will go up to $35.00. I don’t know about you, but I always love a discount, especially if you have multiple girls playing.

Fall Ball will start on September 27, 2014 and run through October 25, 2014. It is a shortened season, and it takes the opportunity to grow as players and teach mechanics and fundamentals. Wins and losses are not tracked during fall ball and the teams are not ranked 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd, etc. This is strictly the time to work on the game and bonding as a team.

What happens if you don’t have an established team? For those girls who want to try softball for the first time, this is the perfect time. The RGSA board will randomly draw (hat draw) the girls and place them on a team to play for the season. Keep in mind though that fall ball is an open roster and Spring ball is a closed roster. What does that mean? That means that even though you played on one team for the fall season you may not be on that same team for the spring season. It is still a good opportunity to learn new skills and build on fundamentals.

So, come on out tonight and register your daughter and let’s play ball! Don’t forget your player’s birth certificate.
