Opening day ceremonies went well and thanks to all the slugger parents our lunch picnic went great. Everyone helped with supplies as-well-as the cooking. The small barbeque took place after our team photos and after lunch we had to wait for a while till our first game.
The Sluggers played the Dexter Dazzlers. The Dazzlers started off strong and the Sluggers struggled a bit at the beginning. We did come back well in the third inning and had the 5 run rule called on us. Unfortunately the Sluggers were defeated in the last inning with some rough plays and only a few hits with one run. A final score of 12 – 9 was disappointing for us but we all know “Sluggers Never Quit”.
The next game is this Thursday and the Sluggers will be READY.
